READ BEFORE POSTING - Forum Rules and TOS.

As MUT gets even more popular and Madden '12 is on the horizon we are seeing a lot of new faces around here.
Here are the forum rules for the newbies and for the old dogs who need a refresher.

As posted by EA_Isledyr;
Hello and welcome to the forums!
The forums are a place for our community to have productive discussions with each other and EA staff about the game and other relevant topics. To make sure this forum is kept up to that task, we ask that you are aware of and follow all of the Rules of Conduct when on this forum.
Failure to follow these Rules of Conduct can result in your posts being moved, locked, or removed; repeated or serious violations can result in action against your account. EA Staff must also comply with the EA Employee Online Standards of Conduct.
The Terms of Service
All of our forums are moderated according to the EA Terms of Service linked at the bottom of every page. When you created your account, you agreed to these terms so it is important that you understand what is expected and what is not allowed. Although we have included specific Rules of Conduct below to help you stick to the Terms of Service, it is important to review the terms and ask questions if you don’t know what something means.
Inappropriate Content
Profanity, obscenity, insults, personal attacks, accusations, derogatory or defamatory comments, or other abusive or inappropriate content is not acceptable.
Using asterisks, characters, or alternative spelling to bypass the word filter is considered to be the same as posting the actual profanity.
And remember, even if someone encourages you to post inappropriate content, you will still be held accountable. Do not let other users trick you into breaking the rules; if you see someone post inappropriately, use the Alert button!
On Topic Discussion
If you want to start a thread, make sure to choose the most relevant forum section for your topic. Not only will posting in the wrong section make your topic harder to find, but it may cause your thread to be moved or removed. If you are replying to a thread, make sure your reply contributes to the topic. Off topic posts not only ruin a good thread but are grounds for post removal.
Please note that the Off Topic section is available to discuss topics that are not directly related to the game. The section cannot be used for spam, abusing the post count or scoring system, or doing anything that would otherwise violate the rules or Terms of Service.
Spam
Spamming is not tolerated in the forums. Spamming includes posting the same post multiple times in a forum, repeatedly posting on the same topic in different threads, posting the same post in multiple forums, or posting repeatedly without actually contributing to a topic.
Multiple posts, whether on the same boards or different boards, can be actioned as spam.
Thread Bumping
Posting messages with irrelevant content for the sole purpose of keeping certain posts near the top is called "bumping". Thread bumping is prohibited in the forums. It causes other posts to scroll off the page faster than they should, and raises forum traffic unnecessarily. Threads will be bumped up naturally if users have reason to contribute to them. If you have a question or issue that is not being addressed, make sure you contact a moderator or staff member to assist you.
Personal Information
Personal information is information that can be used to identify a person or contact him or her either on or off-line. It is a violation of our rules to post personal information whether it is yours or someone else's; this is to ensure your privacy and protection. If someone requests your personal information (including contact information), consider that the person may not be who you think they are and may not have your best interests in mind. It’s important to use good judgment and discretion to ensure all participants’ privacy is protected.
Advertising
The purpose of the forum is for discussion. As such, it should not be used to advertise, promote, or drive traffic to another site or notify users of a promotion or contest not approved by EA staff. If you have relevant news or fan site link that contributes to a discussion, this will not likely be seen as advertising. If you are in doubt, ask a staff member or moderator.
Post Language
These are the official forums for EA. Our forum currently only supports English-language posts. Posts in other languages may be removed.
Alerting Posts/Threads
If you see a post that you think is inappropriate or possibly in violation of the Terms of Service, make sure to use the Alert button. This will send the post to our team who can remove inappropriate posts and action accounts as necessary to keep our community safe and productive for everyone. It is not acceptable to abuse the Alert system.
Multiple Accounts/Personas
Multiple accounts or personas cannot be used to force thread activity or otherwise abuse any of the forum systems. If a second persona or account is used to get around an account action, all related accounts may be actioned. If you have an inquiry about a suspension or ban, make sure to contact Support team to assist you. The Support team will not give you account information about an account that does not belong to you.
Changing a Name or Moving Forum Stats
It is not possible for us to change your persona name, post count, or rating. If you use a different persona, the forum stats for that persona are tracked separately from any of your other personas.
Moderators and Staff
Moderators are volunteers who are passionate about the game and spend so much of their personal time helping out on the forums that EA staff members have granted them a special status. Although they may help with moderation by hiding or moving posts and threads, they are not EA staff and cannot affect your account in any way. If you have a question or concern about a moderator, please contact an EA staff member.
EA Staff are denoted by rankings showing whether they are Developers, Community Staff, or Administrators. Developers work on the game and may stop in to explain game mechanics or check out feedback. Community managers are usually very active and are your main resource for information, answers, and handling your game feedback. Administrators are Support staff that help upkeep the forums as well as post information to resolve issues that users may have with the game.
That being said, welcome and enjoy the forums.
